A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the launch of a new makeup brand called SANE at the O1ne Beirut. We're all aware that I love me some makeup, so as soon as I got the invite, I was excited. I didn't know what to expect because I hadn't heard anything about this brand before, shocking I know. Sane Cosmetics is an Italian brand that is distributed by Pamco (Pierre Ain Malak) in Lebanon.

A body paint fashion show took place at the launch where different characters, from Alice in Wonderland to Clowns, were brought to life by SANE cosmetics products. My favorite was the creepy gothic creature, not sure what it was supposed to be, but it was so pretty. At the end of the show, we were given a goodie bag filled with a couple of products from the cosmetics brand. Naturally, I began to test them out so that I could share my feedback with you guys.
Ink Liner, high precision eyeliner: 3.5/5
First impression, I hated the packaging. It feels a bit cheap due to the shiny plastic. High end felt tip liquid liners usually have a stopper in the lid which elongates the life of the product, but this liner didn't have one. That's not a deal breaker, but it's a point worth mentioning. The tip is very fine, on the shorter side and is stiff. With that said, it's not hard to use and you can create thick and thin lines easily. The product is very long lasting. As I mentioned in my snapchat quick review, I applied the product at 11 am and it was still there intact by 7 pm. I accidentally rubbed my eye so I retouched around 8 and it still looked perfect at 11 pm when I went to take it off. I removed the product with miscellar water pretty easily.
Deep Kohl, waterproof intense kohl: 3/5
Kohl eyeliners don't really excite me. As long as an eyeliner is pigmented and applies smoothly without getting everywhere, I'm satisfied. The Deep Kohl liner by Sane met those demands but it loses points for being a smidge messy. It's not a bad product, I just would rather use my Urban Decay 24/7 gel liners instead...
Lip Pencil, "Everybody Flirts 08": 4.5/5
This was hands down my FAVORITE product from the brand. Everything about this lip pencil is perfection. The color is a gorgeous dusty pink that has a matt finish, right up my alley. It applied very smoothly and evenly across my lips, AND it lasted a really long time. Even as it starts to fade due to eating and drinking, it does it in a subtle manner so you're not left with that ugly ring around your lips. I will DEFINITELY try out more colors from the range!
Lip service, hydrating lip balm: 3.5/5
The lip service reminds me of the lip primer by Bite Beauty, except more nourishing. It hydrates the lips as mentioned on the packaging without leaving them sticky, like some lip balms. You can apply a lipstick right after the lip balm without having dab some product away with a tissue. Pretty decent lip balm.
"The Obsession", volumizing mascara: 4/5
The formula of the mascara is very wet and the head of the wand is plastic with small bristles. When I pulled it out of the tube, I thought I would hate it because I like slightly dry formulas with big wands (bala ma3na). The small bristles allow you to get close to the lash line and wiggle the brush around, leaving you with gorgeous voluminous lashes. Although it's not waterproof, it's a very long lasting formula. Once you apply it in the morning, your lashes will stay like that all day until you take them off. To remove the product, you need an oil based makeup remover, miscellar water does not cut it. I used my trusty Camomile Oil remover from The Body Shop.
Although I haven't tried out any base products from the brand, the products that I did get my hands on did not disappoint! If you're a makeup lover like me and want to try out this new Italian brand, I highly recommend by starting out with the Sane Cosmetics lip liners. They're honestly pretty amazing!
