The first month of my challenge is up. Time really has flown by. On Monday, I went for my first "check-up" at The Healthquarters to see my progress and get feedback about my body. Up until my appointment, I had had a pretty shitty day, and to say that I really wasn't in the mood to get on a scale is an understatement. I pushed the negative thoughts aside and went through with it, the results cheered me up instantly. I had lost 4.7 kgs! 3.7 of them lost thanks to the diet that my nutritionist has me on, and 1 from the week before my initial consultation. The number might not seem like a big deal, but it's a very big deal to me, for two reasons:
First of all, my diet doesn't feel like a diet, so for me to actually lose weight by not really "dieting" makes me happy.
Second of all, when you look at the bigger picture. That's almost 5 down, 15 to go!
Because I was sick and didn't work out as much as I should, there was some muscle loss involved along with the fat loss, but Mira assured me that it wasn't the end of the world. As long as I actually get my butt moving and start working out more consistently. I think the next part of my "journey" would be to find a form of exercise that I enjoy so that I can commit.
The highlights of my week:
1) Sushi "in
almost moderation": it's one of the foods I seriously can't give up, but it's one of those foods that can be considered healthy if selected right. As long as there's no mayo, cripsy, teriyaki and other "fatty" things involved, it's an acceptable meal. The only hard part is portion control, although this was more than I should have had, it's much less than what I usually would get. Baby steps.
2) Colorful tuna pasta salad: when I can't think of anything to make or have no time, this has become my go-to. Colorful, tasty and refreshing.
3) Phoenician Silk Tea by The Blue House Tea: I tried this tea out while at Oliver's the other day, and I loved it. I should pass by the Blue House Tea to pick some up for myself.
4) Avicii: this was my first ever DJ/rave event, yes I know I'm a late bloomer. It was a ton of fun. I got to wear a romper which I previously "wasn't comfortable in", and I managed to control my alcohol intake (because ew vodka :P). You guys also seemed to have enjoyed my Get Ready With Me on Snapchat, I might do some more!

-Drink more water
