Basil Soda was the first Lebanese fashion designer that I ever talked about on my blog. I've mentioned the story of the Katy Perry dress at the 2009 Grammy's many times, how that was the moment I truly fell in love with the work of the talented designer. My love also grew when he opened up his atelier right across the street from my house, I would drool every time I walked by. He is hands down my favorite Lebanese designer, yes surpassing Elie Saab. The world lost a great talent when he passed away earlier in the year, I hadn't been that affected by a designer's death since Alexander McQueen. I know it's weird to get sad about someone you never have actually met and known in person (although I did sort of meet him a couple of years back at an event).
Yesterday, I attended the private viewing of the Couture and Ready to Wear collections of FW 2015/2016. I had seen some images of the gowns online, but I was very excited to see them up close, because it's all about the details with his work! I managed to take some pictures to share with you guys, unfortunately though my camera was out of battery so I had to resort to my phone. Thankfully, phone camera technology has improved and the pictures aren't all that horrible.
What do you think of the collection?
