Life has been a little crazy, and I haven't made time to just sit down and write things on this thing even though I had been proactive early on in the month and taken some pictures for the blog. For those of you who don't know me personally, or haven't stalked by Twitter feed, I'll give you a quick update on things. I recently resigned from my position at an advertising agency, and by recently I mean that yesterday was my last actual day of work. It was a hard decision because I was comfortable with the flow, but I just knew that I had to move on to better opportunities. I'm still young(ish) and there's a lot that still needs to be accomplished. As for the next step, it's a very different step for me in terms of a career, but I'm very excited. This whole month has been a little hectic in preparation for my departure from work, the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was turn on my laptop and stare at a screen for a couple of more hours. But work's over now, and I'm free to do as I please. Now that we're done with the life update, shall we move on to the outfit?
Remember how in my last couple of posts I mentioned that I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone in terms of fashion? This is sort of a continuation of that. Meet the black romper from H&M. Before you go on and point out that I've posted a romper on my blog before, let me clarify the situation. I have worn a romper before, but NEVER without tights, because I just don't do shorts and bare legs in public. Something happened though when I tried on this piece from H&M. It became my literal summer uniform. Anytime I didn't feel like thinking about what to wear, I'd reach for this. I'd dress it up with heels and a blazer, as I've done in these pictures, or I'd dress it down with sandals and a vest, as I posted on Instagram a while back. Either way, I was in love. I was so in love actually, that I tried to find a back up for next summer in case something horrible happens to the one I own. I searched for over a month with no luck, but I'm happy to share that on a random trip to City Centre I did manage to find one...and it was on sale. You may conclude that I was really happy :)
It really feels awesome though to get out of your comfort zone and expand the zone to include wearing awesome things you never thought you'd wear. I can't wait to take more and more steps this year until hopefully I can become comfortable enough with myself to just not care anymore about insecurities and all that jazz.
