One of my resolutions for 2014 was to consistently post monthly favorites, it's one of two resolutions which I didn't stick to. In order to make up for it, I thought I'd share the creme de la creme of my favorites, which in my opinion are the best beauty products that I got to try out in 2014. To pick the best, I broke it down by category and went through my ridiculously extensive makeup collection to find the products that stood out and kicked ass this year.
Foundation: Makeup Forever HD Foundation
A foundation that I had been wanting to try for a while, finally decided to shell out them dollars and bring this baby home. You can check out my full review right here.
Concealer: Glamoflauge Hard Candy
Not sure if I've properly mentioned this product before, but it is hands down THE BEST concealer I've ever used in my life, and the best part is that it was so cheap (less than $10 from Walmart). This stuff covers everything from blemishes to dark circles, you need half a drop to cover up any spots. Unfortunately it's not available in Lebanon, but you should definitely get it from the states if you know anyone there... Maybe I should do a post about products you should ask your friends from a abroad for. haha
Bronzer: Chanel Les Beiges N40
When it comes to Chanel beauty products it's honestly love at first sight for me, mainly because of the chic packaging. I remember the exact second that I took the compact out of the box and velvet pouch and opened it up. The smell, the sleekness... very luxurious. It is a very pricey product, obviously, but it honestly worth the splurge because it will last ages. I've been using it almost everyday for exactly a year and I hardly have made a dent! The shade (N40) is perfect for me both in winter and summer, but they do have a decent selection of shades to choose from so you're surely to find one that would suit you.
Eyebrows: Lancaster Eyeshadow
I've been using this eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows and it's awesome. It's the perfect shade of brown mixed with grey, matches my natural (almost black) eyebrows and hair very well. It also double as an eyeliner sometimes when I can't be bothered to use a proper eyeliner.
Eyeliner: Rimmel Scandaleyes "Deep Blue"
I can't believe it took me THIS long to try out the Scandaleyes eyeliners by Rimmel, they're flipping awesome! You can find a very decent selection of colors and they pretty much tick all the boxes for being an awesome eyeliner (smooth, pigmented, easy to blend but won't budge all day, waterproof... etc.)
Eye Shadow: Benefit R.S.V.P. Cream Eye Shadow
As much as I loved (and still love) my Maybelline Color Tattoos, I noticed that I've been reaching for this cream shadow more often than my "On and On Bronze". It a very natural champagne color that's great for everyday and can also be used as an base or a highlighter!
Mascara: Maybelline "Go Extreme" Colossal Mascara
A recent release by Maybelline, which usually never disappoints when it comes to mascaras. I've talked about this mascara a lot on my blog and instagram. You need to try it out if you haven't already; with a couple of coats you'll have big, flirty, and voluminous lashes! Check out my review right here.
Lipstick: MAC Heroine
Do I really need to elaborate? My love: Heroine. I've talked about it a billion times, like here and here.
Nail Polish: "Peppermint" Rimmel Salon Pro
Most people like the 60 Second line by Rimmel, but I'm more of a Salon Pro gal, I feel like the formula is less lumpy and applies better than the 60 second.. plus they have a cooler color selection which includes Peppermint. LOVE this shade, it's more of a spring/summer scent but I wear it year round.
Skincare: The Bodyshop Cleansing Oil
A much raved about product in the online beauty community, and honestly it deserves the rave. I was a little iffy to try it because my skin is a bit oily and the thought of adding oil to it just freaked me out. After Maya got it and loved it, I thought it was time I bite the bullet and try it. I'm SO glad I did, because NOTHING removes my makeup like this product and it also is great for facial massages. Highly recommend it if you're looking for an affordable smooth cleanser to removed makeup!
"Rub Rub Rub" from LUSH, probably the best body scrub I've ever tried. It leaves your skin feeling super soft and it smells like a hot guy.
"Hand Food" Hand Cream from Soap and Glory, my favorite hand cream to date. The scent it sweet and it leaves your hands feeling soft but not greasy.
"Gingerly" blush from MAC Cosmetics, a very natural shade that I always reach for when I'm not sure which blush would go with my look.
