How do you feel about color blocking?

Big spring trend, color blocking!!! Yup yup, the fashion world is telling us all to put on as many colors as possible into an outfit and it's going to be considered fashionable :D yeay us! I
Ok, so here are my thoughts on color blocking. I LOVE color, so color blocking is a great idea.
I've always loved wearing green with pink, yellow and purple... although  when it comes to the orange and pink combination... I've always been slightly iffy. If done right, color blocking is lot's of fun and looks great. But there's a fine line between "fun" and looking like the rainbow threw up on you...

Here's a couple of things to keep in mind.

1. If you're not comfortable wearing bright colors all in the same outfit, I suggest trying a "safe" color combination. Yellow and coral/Green with blue or yellow/Pink with purple or blue / Red and blue/Blue and orange :)

2. Try a colored denim, bright blue, green or red. Zara has a great selection of colored denim.

 3. Colorful shoes also count. I love
these orange jeans with the bright pink pumps :)

4. Bright clutches are amazing. It's a very quick way of adding color to your outfit, especially on those days when you can't really seem to know what to wear. A bright clutch goes great with everything from a dress or a plain t-shirt and jeans combination.

 5. Add a little orange to your "everyday" outfit. Maybe a skinny belt, a pair of earrings, a bangel, or a purse.

6. Experiment with bright nail polish colors. The last couple of summers the super bright neon pinks and oranges have been the trend. They're still in this summer, but I suggest trying a green, a yellow or a blue.

7. Don't be affraid to mix colors and patterns. This is a bit tricky since patterns have a tendency to clash. I suggest adding one pattern to your color mix. Once you get the hang of it, you'll feel more comfortable with the mixing process.

8. I read somewhere that "this season, it's all about mixing and NOT matching". I think that statement sums it up pretty well.

  3. I love color blocking, especially with bright colors. I can't wait to try it, but have been waiting for better weather - none of my brights are winter-worthy.
