Red Carpet: American Music Awards

Julianne Hough in Marchesa
I forget what people are calling these types of dresses, you know the ones where it's a normal dress on the top and then there's a sheer curtain for the legs? The one thing I like about these kinds of dresses is that you can get a peek at what shoes are worn with the dress, but sadly I can't see what shoes Julianne has worn. She still looks pretty though, all in all, it's very red-carpet appropriate.

Jessica Alba in Cushnie et Ochs
Yeay for not wearing a "cliche" designer. This is the first time I hear of "Cushnie et Ochs", and I'm liking what I'm seeing. It reminds me of one of the dresses by Azzi and Osta, but the less dramatic version, I think it's the shoulder pointy-ness. I'm realllyyy loving her shoes, they're by ???

Fergie in Falguni and Shane Peacock
Now this is a very dramatic look... I really love the colour and the textures of the dress. Can't say I like this look on the red carpet, it's very theatrical and I feel like it would be better off on the stage. The peep toes tone down the look, but they don't really go with the outfit. I'm iffy on this one, and I'll leave it up to you to decide whether you like it or not :)

Jada Pinkett-Smith in Emilio Pucci
You know what ticks me off? When people wear a beautiful dress in the wrong colour that just looks horrible on them! As is the case with Mrs. Smith and the lovely Emilio Pucci gown. I saw this dress is black, and it's beautiful, not sure I'm feeling it in this weird shade of orange/brown. The contrast of textures between the tough neckline and the rest of the romantic gown is beautiful.

Jenny McCarthy in Stella McCartney
McCarthy in McCartney, love it! Jenny has worn this dress before, but who cares (I don't). Because she looks amazing. I like the glitery print of the one shoulder dress. Her hair is lovely, I'm glad she pulled it up. Her make-up is flawless and her earrings go great with the outfit.
 Ps. Her legs look awesome.

Katy Perry in Badgley Mischka
I love Katy Perry's ability to go from cupcake bras and blue wings to a romantic look like it. She's one of my favorite celebs, love her outfits, love her songs etc. Definitely love this red carpet look.  Mrs. Russel Brand wore this lovely nude pink strapless dress by Badgley Mischka which she paired with nude Brian Atwood peep toes. The only thing I'm not feeling is her hair, it just looks funny. What do you think?

Nicki Minaj in Manish Arora
Are those things her nails or part of the dress?? Either way, I hate them. The dress isn't that bad, but the same as Fergie's dress, I find it more stage appropriate that red-carpet.But she's Nicki Minaj, I wasn't expecting her to show up in a Marchesa gown, you know what I mean? OU also, does the dress have a rib cage on it?? That's a little disturbing.  I will say one thing I like about this look, the shoes. They're the "Amber" sandals by Christian Louboutin.

Miley Cyrus in Marchesa
Miley looks very pretty, no torn short shorts or ugly knitt tops in sight. yeay!
On to the dress, it's beautiful, but I can't decide whether I love it or not. It's that darn train, it's annoying me yet it' fascinating. I love the dress with the Christian Louboutin peep toes but minus the train, it looks amazing on her. But insert train and it reminds me of these "modern" wedding dresses, or a bad Pamela Anderson marriage. :/
What do you say?

Rihanna in Elie Saab
Rihanna looks amazing in this gown. Her hair, dress and the carpet match. I normally don't like matchy-matchyness, but Rihanna pulls it off. I'm in love with her new hairstyle, the shade of red is amazing and I'm loving the curls, so greatful she's done with the bobs and boy-cuts. On to the dress, Saab knows how to incorporate sheer and lace into a gown without making it look trashy. It sorta reminds me of Halle Berry's Oscar dress.

Willow Smith in I don't even wanna know.
No, just no. Take it off. Burn it. Now.
Thank you.
